Renters Assistance

A little direction can make a big difference. Find local rent assistance, housing support, church ministries and people who can help you take the next step.

58 resources · Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas & surrounding counties
Public information reviewed October 13, 2026

Find help near you.

Choose your county, then check the statewide and regional section too. This directory is for our wider community, whether or not you rent from Bridge City Properties.

Availability, funding and staff can change. Contact providers directly before visiting or submitting documents. Listings identify direct assistance, referrals and basic-needs services separately; inclusion does not guarantee eligibility, payment or placement. This is a broad starting directory, not every organization in the region.

Need interpretation, relay access, disability accommodation or a culturally specific service? Tell the intake team. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. Crisis phone lines are faster than general email.

Make your first call count.

Try: “I live in [county/ZIP]. I need help with [rent, a deposit, shelter or utilities]. My deadline is [date]. Are you accepting applications, and who should I speak with?”

  • Ask about address boundaries, income limits, household requirements, waitlists, referral requirements and available funds.
  • Have your lease, current rent balance or ledger, landlord contact, any notices and recent income information ready if the program requests them.
  • Ask which documents are required and how to submit them securely. Send sensitive documents directly to the provider, not to Bridge City Properties for this directory.
  • Keep a record of calls and follow-up dates. If a program is full, ask for another referral. If you have court papers, contact legal help promptly while seeking rent assistance.
